Fencing and storytelling

What is this activity about?

Test your skill in the elegant 17th- and 18th-century art of fencing. A fencing duel is not decided by raw strength but by skill, focus  and perhaps a little cunning.

Step into the old royal castle and hear living stories from the dramatic history of Koldinghus. See nimble noblemen duel for honour and experience the elegant art of fencing for yourself as the talented fencers of Koldinghus take you a living journey back in time, when honour was more important than life itself.

The castle's fencers will guide you safely through a series of fun and challenging exercises that anyone can participate in. The activity includes a fun and exciting fencing competition and concludes with a royal ceremony to celebrate the winner. We guarantee an experience with lots of that might get your pulse up a little bit.

Follow-up

Conclude your group activity with a visit to the Royal Costume Wardrobe, where you can dress up in beautiful Renaissance costumes and take a photo at the selfie station. You can also combine your fencing tutorial with a themed guided tour of the castle or a visit to our restaurant, Madkælderen

The fencers and other actors come from SkuespilsKompagniet.
