The grand knights’ feast
Throw a grand knights' feast at Koldinghus, in the style of 1616, with a banquet, fencing, dressing up and Renaissance music and dancing.
Celebration in the style of 1616
The year is 1616. A few years before, Christian IV had been victorious in the Kalmar War, against Sweden, and he felt that the world was at his feet. Naturally, this called for celebration. So Christian IV founded a new knight's order, 'the Order of the Armoured Arm'. At a grand event at Koldinghus, the new order was awarded to men who had shown extraordinary valour and steadfastness in the battle field. The official event was followed by a magnificent party with dancing and music in the Knights' Hall here at Koldinghus on 2 December 1616.
