Royal Costume Wardrobe
Have fun with royal costumes, corsets and the elegance of a bygone era. The Royal Costume Wardrobe invites you into a fascinating universe where both children and adults can dress up in historical costumes and experience history first-hand.
Visit the Royal Costume Wardrobe
The Royal Costume Wardrobe invites children and adults to try on beautiful costumes from different historical eras, including the Renaissance and the Middle Ages.
The costumes are replicas, sewn in the Royal Workroom at Koldinghus. The room feels like stepping inside a giant wardrobe, where one wall is beautifully decorated with costumes from different historical periods, sewn in a wide selection of materials in beautiful colours.
Using line drawings, the visual artist Thomas PÄlsson has created a large photo wall designed to look like a tap-room from the time of Christian IV. Pose in front of the wall for a beautiful photographic memento from our selfie station.
