Join us on a classic tour of Christian IV's beloved Rosenborg Castle, where the students, accompanied by a museum guide, follow in the footsteps of Denmark's kings and queens.

About the guided tour

Imagine entering Christian IV's chambers, where he could appear as a powerful Renaissance king in private too. Sense the atmosphere in Frederik III's royal chambers, where the dramatic era of absolute monarchy comes to life. Visit the Great Hall, where Christian V's magnificent tapestries tell the story of Denmark's burning desire to reclaim the title of ruler of the North.

Four generations of kings lived or stayed at Rosenborg Castle, and through them, the history of Denmark is told from a royal perspective. This tour is focused on the unique objects, rooms and stories of Rosenborg Castle's 400-year history.

This education activity concludes with a tour of the Treasury, where students can take a close look at Christian IV's Renaissance crown and hear about what guided his personal design of this exceptional crown.
