How you can experience the palace

We offer various ways for you to experience the Hermitage Palace during the summer season.

The nearest S-train and regional train station is Klampenborg Station, from where it is about a 45-minute walk.

It is possible to transfer to bus number 388 and get off at the Springforbivej stop, from where the castle is about a 2-minute walk.

Bags, luggage on wheels etc.

Practical information

There are limited cloakroom facilities and only space for small bags and umbrellas. Large bags, suitcases, prams, strollers, and umbrellas are not allowed.

Strollers and prams are not allowed in the castle.

For safety reasons, lifts and sleep carriers are not allowed in the palace – we recommend using a baby carrier.

It is not allowed to bring or consume food and drinks in the palace.

There is access to a toilet inside the castle before the tour begins.

Companion card, disabled parking etc.

Accessibility

Visitors with a companion card from Disabled People’s Organisation Denmark can bring a carer/companion free of charge. You will need to present the companion card when you arrive.

The Hermitage Palace has a lot of stairs and no elevator. Therefore, the palace is not suitable for visits if you have difficulty walking or use a walker or wheelchair.

If you have mobility issues, please contact us before booking your ticket. We recommend that this inquiry be made well in advance of your desired visit to the Hermitage Palace.

There are chairs around the castle, so you can take a rest during your visit.

Guide dogs and assistance dogs accompanying their owner are allowed throughout the palace. To qualify, the dog must be a trained assistance dog with a vest or other accessory clearly marked ‘Assistance dog’ or similar. The dog must be kept on a leash throughout your visit.
